DevLog 08: Nearing Port!

In our relentless pursuit of stunning visuals, we've dedicated ourselves to enhancing the game's graphical presentation. We're pleased to share that we're edging ever closer to the visual standard we envisioned at the project's inception.

We've been tinkering with the water wake feature we introduced last week, aiming to refine the ship's turning dynamics for a more organic feel. While we're making progress, we're still deliberating whether to include this tweak in the final version:

We're also striving to enhance clarity for our players by incorporating UI elements onto our cannons and player avatars.

As we approach the final stages of development, our developers are working tirelessly to tie up loose ends. Here's a recap of this week's achievements:

  • Pirate Ship Event: Successfully implemented an exhilarating encounter with a menacing pirate ship.
  • Fixed Pickups Issues: Resolved glitches to ensure seamless collection of interactive objects aboard our ship.
  • Integrated UI: Incorporated sleek and intuitive user interface elements to enhance player interaction.
  • Integrated UI Input: Improved control and responsiveness, empowering players to command their pirate adventures.
  • Complete Join UI: Streamlined crew creation and multiplayer access for seamless gameplay with friends.
  • Complete overhaul of the event system to allow the handling of multiple events at the same time.
  • Complete overhaul of the bomber event, they now react to other bombers to try to efficiently use their roaming areas.
  • Events properly react to eachother to give a better immersion.
  • Cannons are finished.
  • Tooltips have been added.
  • Rocking motion component.

With just one week left before the launch of our beta, we're gearing up for the final push. Wish us luck as we set sail into the homestretch of development!
