DevLog 06: Navigating new Waters


As we sail closer to realizing our game's envisioned world, each update brings us closer to the immersive experience we've been crafting.

One of the most significant additions is the debut of our sleek start menu. Now, players can enter the game world with just a few clicks, setting the stage for a new adventure. Once they're on board, the camera sweeps them into the heart of the action, signaling the start of the game.


We've introduced a new event: The bomber challenge. A rival pirate launches bombs onto our ship, testing the mettle of our players. With lightning-fast reflexes, they must intercept and return the explosives before chaos reigns.


And what's a pirate adventure without the thrill of steering your own ship? We've started to add control with our new steering mechanic.

Our cannons, the backbone of any pirate crew, have undergone a transformation. They're not just weapons anymore; they're a sight to behold. We've revamped their look and functionality, providing clear indicators of their readiness to unleash mayhem upon our foes.


Of course, no pirate tale would be complete without the shimmering expanse of the open sea. That's why we've refined our water shader to create a more immersive experience. And fear not – while our sails billow majestically in the wind, they never obstruct the view, ensuring players stay fully immersed in the action.
